A Little Peek Inside My Knitting Patterns
Share
If you’re thinking about starting a new knitting project, it’s always nice to know what you’ll find inside the pattern before you begin.
Today I want to open one of my Bobbysus knitting patterns and share four sample pages with you. Just a little peek inside, so you can see how the information is organised and what you’ll find as you work through your project, stitch by stitch.
1. Everything you need before you start
The first page brings together all the important information you need before picking up your needles: the finished size, materials, recommended needles and gauge.
You’ll also find a stitch glossary, so you can easily check the knitting terms used throughout the pattern.
It’s the little bit of preparation that makes everything feel easier once you start knitting.

2. Written instructions with visual support
Once you’re ready to start, the knitting instructions guide you through the pattern step by step.
The stitches and techniques are explained in writing and accompanied by helpful photographs, making it easier to connect each instruction with what you’re actually doing with your needles.
Because sometimes, seeing a stitch is just as helpful as reading about it.

3. After the written instructions
After the written instructions, you’ll find pages showing the finished design.
I’ve included one of these pages here as a sample, so you can see how the finished piece is presented and get a clearer idea of the project you’re working towards.
I love seeing all those little stitches come together to create the whole blanket.

4. The knitting chart
And finally, here’s a sample page with a knitting chart: a visual way to follow the structure of the pattern while you work.
For some knitters, charts make it easier to see how the stitches repeat and how the design grows row by row.
It’s another way to have the pattern close at hand while you’re enjoying your knitting.

A little window into Bobbysus
These four pages are just a small glimpse of what you’ll find inside my knitting patterns.
I want each pattern to give you the information you need to prepare your project and then enjoy the process: clear written instructions, helpful photographs and a visual chart, all together in one place.
Whether you’re knitting a baby blanket for your own little one or making a handmade baby gift for someone you love, I hope the pattern feels like a calm companion along the way.
Because at Bobbysus, I believe there’s something special about making things slowly, one stitch at a time.
